Google Gemini’s new feature can turn photos into video clips

Google Gemini launched a feature converting uploaded photos into 8-second video clips with sound.

This capability is powered by Google's advanced Veo 3 AI model.

Currently available only to paying Google AI Ultra and Pro users in select regions.

Users access it via the 'Videos' option in the Gemini prompt box tool menu.

After uploading a photo, users enter a text prompt describing the video action and any audio requirements (dialogue, sound effects).

Google encourages creativity: animating objects, bringing drawings/paintings to life, adding movement to nature scenes.

Once generated, users can share or download the resulting video clip.

This photo-to-video feature builds on Google's earlier AI video generation efforts.

Google previously introduced similar functionality for its professional filmmaker tool, Flow, back in May 2024.

The rollout enhances Gemini's creative toolkit for users within the supported tiers and regions.

For customers, it means less jumping between apps and more convenient service in one place.
