Navendu Agarwal, Chief Information Officer of Ola Group, announced the partnership at Lenovo TechWorld India 2025 in Mumbai. The collaboration aims to strengthen AI computing infrastructure in the country.
He stated that the supercomputer would be integrated into Krutrim’s cloud ecosystem and support its AI initiatives. The company is also working on its own foundational AI models and an AI chip.
Krutrim is developing Krutrim 3, trained on 700B parameters, a huge leap from Krutrim 1 (7B) and Krutrim 2 (12B).
Agarwal also highlighted that Krutrim has a 700-member team dedicated to full-stack AI development, including applications for agentic platforms, contact center AI, and manufacturing AI.
Currently, 30% of Lenovo’s PCs are made in India, a figure expected to reach 50% next year. Additionally, Lenovo plans to roll out AI-powered servers from its India unit starting April 1.
To support its AI expansion, Lenovo is also setting up another R&D center in Bengaluru.
India’s need for robust sovereign cloud infrastructure has increasingly been highlighted, especially as global competition intensifies, particularly from Chinese and American tech giants.
